Today's Tip for Building Character in Kids: Perseverance

Promoting Perseverance

Perseverance is the ability to push through when giving up seems easier.

Mistakes can be discouraging, but it's important to help children identify and understand their errors instead of getting overwhelmed. Breaking tasks into smaller parts can help children focus and get started. Show your child how to "chunk it" by tackling tasks bit by bit, reducing the chance of feeling overwhelmed. As children independently complete larger tasks, their confidence and perseverance grow.
