Learn Executive Function Skills and Social Skills with friends who share a passion for building and creating with LEGOS!
See Details and Registration Info Below!

LEGO Club Info
-
Club is run by an Occupational Therapist with 20+ years of experience and specializes in executive function and social skills
-
A Social Skills assessment will be given to parents prior to the group to assess strengths and areas of concern.
-
All building materials to be used during the club will be provided, just bring yourself!
-
Each week there is a new team build, Lego based games, and new executive function and social skills learned.
-
A second 8 week session will run after the first one. It is recommended that you sign up for the second session as well. New builds and new/familiar friends will allow for new experiences to build upon the skills learned. Next session start date will be announced soon.
-
One hour of free build time is included! After the group begins, a day/time will be set for the free build as a way to celebrate the skills and friends we made!
-
The Lego Club "Group" is based on an evidenced-based curriculum. Positivepsychology.com reported some of the studies that support Lego groups:
-
Significant reduction in maladaptive behaviors including tantrums, avoidance of responsibility, physical aggression, and bedwetting (Owens, Granader, Humphrey, & Baron-Cohen, 2008)
-
Increased social confidence and independence of primary-aged children with social communication difficulties (Boyne, 2014)
-
Greater willingness to initiate social interactions, such as asking another child questions (Barakova, Bajracharya, Willemsen, Lourens, & Huskens, 2015)
-
Parents whose children took part in Lego Therapy clubs frequently reported their child had made new friends with others in attendance (Evans, Sanders, & Knight, 2014)
Important Registration Information:
-
If you are new to the group, please email me at bethotr@gmail.com because we need to schedule a meeting to see if the group is appropriate for your child, make sure the child is in with same aged peers, and to complete the initial assessment/questionnaire.
-
If you are returning to the group, please contact me at bethotr@gmail.com to complete the registration. Welcome back!
Thank you!
