What are Fine Motor Skills?

The capacity to move by using the little muscles in our hands and wrists is known as fine motor abilities. They involve smaller actions such as picking up objects between the thumb and finger, writing carefully, and blinking. To complete important activities in school, the workplace, and daily life, we depend on these abilities.

Most people execute these little movements without thinking since they are so natural to them. However, fine motor skills are difficult. They require the brain and muscles working in unison. They are based on gross motor skills that enable us to perform actions like running and jumping.

Fine motor skills are dependent on good hand strength, coordination, and manual dexterity.
